Vaonis Vespera Diffraction Spikes Filter Ring – Star Spikes with DB, CLS or Blank

Add diffraction spikes (the "star twinkle" effect) to your Vaonis Vespera images. This ring replaces the standard lens ring and has built-in spike vanes. Choose 4 to 8 spikes, either on their own (blank ring) or combined with a Dual Band (DB) or CLS filter.

Fits all models: Vespera (original), Vespera II (Vespera 2), Vespera Pro, Vespera Pro 2 and Vespera Passenger.

Why diffraction spikes on a Vespera?

Vespera is a refractor, so its stars come out as plain round dots. Many astrophotographers like the classic spiked stars seen in reflector and JWST images. This ring creates them optically, in the camera, without editing software. With the DB or CLS version you get the spikes and light-pollution filtering in one ring, so you don't have to choose between them.

Options

• Blank ring – $35. Spikes only, no filter. Vespera treats it as having no filter fitted.
• Dual Band (DB) ring – $75. Spikes plus a dual band filter for emission nebulae. Detected by Vespera; switches on Dual Band mode.
• CLS ring – $70. Spikes plus a CLS filter for light-polluted skies. Detected by Vespera.
• Spike count: 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 spikes.

How to install

1. Remove the standard lens ring from the Vespera optical arm.
2. Insert the diffraction spikes ring until it clicks into place.
3. With the DB or CLS version, the Singularity app recognizes the filter and shows the matching mode. The app then guides you through the session.

Which spike count should I choose?

• 4 spikes – the classic cross, like most reflector images.
• 6 spikes – the JWST-style look.
• 5, 7 or 8 spikes – a more unusual, artistic star shape.

FAQ

Will Vespera detect the filter?
The DB and CLS versions have the filter recognition chip and are detected by Vespera. The blank ring doesn't have the chip.

Does it fit Vespera II and Vespera Pro?
Yes. It fits every Vespera model, including Passenger.
